Remind is a great tool teachers can use to stay in contact with students and parents. I created my account by going to the website and made a class. From there I added my students to this class. Once I had my class set up, it was easy. All teachers have to do is type a message and then hit send and it goes directly to their students or parents phones. As I teacher, I will instruct parents to use this tool by sending home a letter with the class code on it. I will then encourage them to use Remind to get in contact with me if they have any questions about assignments or projects. This tool incorporates component 3A because it allows teachers to communicate with students and parents. It also allows teachers to communicate their expectations to their students in an easy way. Overall using this tool was fun and not complicated at all. If I could do anything differently, it would be to make the messages I sent on Remind more meaningful and pertinent to what my students would be learning. The learning from this tool ties into what I am learning in Educational Psychology because in Ed. Psych we are learning about how getting to know students and communicating with them can really make an impact on how they learn. By using this tool, teachers can achieve good communication among their students and thus help them to learn and have a more positive school experience. I can use this tool in my future classroom to remind students of homework assignments, test, and major upcoming projects. I will also use this to remind parents of upcoming activities and events in my classroom so that they can be involved.
