This component of Domain 3 is about the act of teaching and instruction. This means the acts that actually occur inside the classroom. It is important for teachers to communicate with their students so that they can be engaged in learning. Without clear directions and explanations, this is not possible. This is important because students will not be able to perform what the teacher is looking for without clear directions, instructions, or explanations. This needs to be done in a concise, clear, and engaging manner and provide scaffolds when curriculum may be challenging.
