This component of Domain 2 is about how establishing a routine for students to follow is extremely important. It provides structure and allows the school day to flow more smoothly than if there was not any structure. By being organized and creating a system for students to grow accustom to, teachers allow their students to learn better and know their teacher's expectations for them. This is important because it creates effective transitions, like when students arrive at school. By creating a morning routine, students are kept occupied and busy until the teacher decides to begin class. These routines also help prevent wasting valuable instruction time because once learned these duties can be completed without teacher involvement. Routine also teaches responsibility and cooperation among peers.
